Trade vs. Finance Activity

Purpose:

bulletHelp students separate international trade from international finance issues.  In the past, many of the international finance proposals contained content better suited for international trade. 
bulletStimulate interest in international economics  while scaffolding complex issues.
bulletGive students practice with the "Problem-Solution" graphic organizer in order to deepen critical thinking related to identifying problems and solutions.  Students analyze new problems created with each solution identified.

Extension:

bulletStudents compare trade and finance once they have read the Scenario by completing a Venn Diagram
