Advice from Mr. Wilson's SDAIE* World History Class who represented Ukraine, to next year's Ukraine delegates.

*SDAIE - Specially Designed Academic Instruction in English

To future Delegates of Ukraine,

The whole year we were preparing for the main conference in Stanford.  At the beginning of the year everybody worked in groups. The main thing about working in groups is to pay attention and to you role. In till break down of the Soviet Union  (USSR). All work that we learned in class helped us on conference. The other important thing is to do your homework it is worth a lot of points and   helps your class. Group  works is the most fun. Don’t think of a group work as of punishment, as long as you do what you are supposed to, you will understand what it talks about. During 2nd semester most of our time we spent talking with other countries over the Internet. There were many different issues like minorities and gender global warming, ect. During trip to Stanford you should learn about your issue and discuss it during main conference. Have a good luck and fun during learning World history with Mr. Wilson!!!

Honorable Delegates Of Ukraine

Class of 2002/2003

Dear Delegates of Ukraine

Delegates first you need to know how to work in groups. Then you need to participate in groups not only one person had to do all the work. This program is fun but is hard to because if you do not start work together you are not going to know any thing when you go to the university with simcom. But is fun to because you learn things from other countries have good luck. First you’re going to think that Mr. Wilson is exaggerating but he is not you need to work hard.

Ukraine’s Delegates

of 2003

Dear future delegated of Ukraine

Don’t be scared of this confusing Global Forum project. It is going to be amazing if you understand it.

So read the following letter carefully. First try to get as many information during the E-mail conversation as possible. Don’t stick to general ideas like, “we should make good health care”, otherwise it gets too boring and student who‘ll write to you will send boring and senseless email. Try to think about some thing very special unique. It will make the project fun.

Respectfully a Ukraine delegate of 2003

Ok so at first you are going to get an issue. That issued is going to be gender minorities child labor world terrorism world health global worming, International trade, or international finance. Our group for example did child labor. There you have to first look and see what child labor problem hard been solved and what still exist and how to solve them. After that you’ll get to go online and negotiate with other countries on the same issue. You will also do emailing that is asking question and answering about issue. Proposal this you will do just before you go to Sanford University you will represent Ukraine and don’t forget to follow dress code you’ll rescue from simcon. The best part about Sanford is that all of it is fun.

With respect the delegates of 2002/2003

Dear student during this year you are going to do lots of projects and lots of group work. you will learn how to communicate with the other people in your group. You win have specific roles to get the job dove correctly. You will negotiate with other countries on the Internet. Your class will be representing  Ukraine which means you are going to learn a lot about Ukraine. During these negotiations you will talk with other countries ask them questions about their countries. This would be a fun year for you. It was a fun year for me. You even get to go on a field trip at the end of the year.

Respectfully Ukrainian

Delegates of 2003

Dear next year students

This program is one of the best things that you are going to do . what you will do is you will get in groups of 6 or 4. you will get an issue to discuss. You will get different roles to play. After you have been discuss this issue you sill present to the class. Nest semester you will get an issues for the whole semester. You will discuss them you will present them. Also you would do different activities on computer with other classes. You will try to save that issue. What you will do is send emails to them. You will make a proposals that explain your ideas. Then you will have after school conferences. You will send emails and different things too. Then almost at the end of the school. You will go to San Francisco to talk about you issue. It was lots of fun there you will stay there about for 6-8 hours. You I forgot to mention you will go to the most beautiful university in la. It’s called Stanford university. So do not be afraid. Go to the university you will have a lots of fun. I did.

Respectfully delegates from previous years

2002-2003

Our future delegates:

I’ve experienced a year in Mr. Wilson’s history class. In this class, there are actually the student who need to try a lot to learn a lesson by getting to groups and doing necessary activities recommend by Mr. Wilson. The greatest thing you need to do is having a really good participation in the group and trying to beautiful for all the members. Therefore if everybody does his job you are learning you are lesson so prefect. Another recommendation from me would be that you really need to learn what you are studying. Do not just try to memorize and give a presentation without really knowing anything of it., the reason is that you will have really good grades and especially you will need your knowledge. In second semester when you are going to start   some other group activities with all other student all over California. You will send and receive emails from them you will study and discuss the issue that are currently existing in the world  and are not solved yet. So you are going to  be the people who will find the solution fog theses issues. So after all of these remember to have whole participation that was a problem I had in my group so because that they didn’t really participate it didn’t let our group  the best goal and project . I wish you guys best luck.

 Sincerely

Delegates from Ukraine in 2003

Dear Ukrainian Delegates

This is the retired Delegate  of Ukraine from the previous year. You guys are here right now to study about country and present it as well as possible in the Global Forum. Our group (international trade) did a good job an writing the proposal. A proposal is a letter or message, which express your idea  about your issues. There are eight issue and your are going to be divided by Mr. Wilson the head of the delegates!!! To eight groups of four  and each group will educate on there topic. You will be participating in after school conferences to negotiate with  other nations and share your idea’s with them, after 2 conferences you will go to UC Stanford  don’t worry by school buss. I wish you good luck. Do not forget to do a good job especially international trade.

 From delegates of Ukraine 2002-3

Dear Delegates of Ukraine

The experience of being in Mr. Wilson class and having the opportunity to participate in the negotiation, after school conferences and finally the global forum was a good challenging experience that I have ever had. When you first start the class you will think its so boring. This was what I thought. Mr. Wilson brought some of his passing year student to tell us something about his class and the activities global forum and mush other thing and how much  they’ve been fun. I could not believe them. But when we got to the point where you had to talk  share your ideas and so much other stuff. I figured out that it was so much fun. Specially if your proposal got chosen at the beginning you star reading about your issue. Then you go farther with sending emails and staying after school for conferences. By that point you get to go to the Global Forum (if you work well and enough!) it gets so exciting.

I wish you the best luck in your school year and don’t mess with Mr. Wilson

Sincerely

Delegates of Ukraine
